Question on box for daytona zentih 1991

Hello,

I have an opportunity buying a Chrono daytona from 1991 full set.

My question is about the box as the watch is in a brown box, looks like leather and I'm surprise seeing this kind of box for a watch of 1991.

Is it the original box ?

Thanks

If it's a TT or precious metal Daytona, it sounds like the right box, but pics would help........

Is it a TT (Steel and Gold) Daytona or an all precious metal one?

If you're pickung up an all steel "Zenith" Daytona, the box is NOT the right one.... BUT I'd still consider it a bonus since the box pictured is worth USD 250 on its own.

Could also be a box for a Day-Date.

Which reference number does the box have on the base??

Here's a chart over some Rolex boxes (based on collectors' observations):

You can also check out some boxes in these two links:

A box is just that a packaging box your watch is far more important, and boxes are given away as part of the packaging with all Rolex watches.Like others have stated that box comes normally with the gold or some TT type models. Its quite possible even when bought new that the AD perhaps did not have the normal SS box and just picked up the first one they had in stock.Again all these charts are all based on information passed around the various forums. But they are not written in stone what box the AD gives you when you buy a watch. As all watches when sent around the world from Rolex Switzerland are not shipped complete in there green or whatever colour boxes, they are shipped in small clear plastic protective boxes.

You're right, when I bought my LV from Rolex store, she was in a plastic box and the girl came afterwards with the green box. As you said, most important is the watch. However, still hesitate as it's from ebay and I'm not so comfortable buying a watch of this price from this web site even if the guy seems correct and provide me all the papers and pictures. But 8K euro seems low for a Dayto from 1990/91 in perfect conditions with orginal papers etc....

Well have seen the Zenith Daytona sell from around the 8K to the 9.50K Euro range.
