Real?

Hey Guys,
I thought I posted this, but I don't see it. (Sorry if this is a duplicate).

I am going to buy one of these two Yachtmaster this week. Do both of these look real?

The Seller of the first one has no papers, one photo and no feedback. But the price is intriguing, so far. What do you think?

The second one, seems pretty legit and seller has great feedback, but can you look it over for me?

Thanks guys!

If I were buying on eBay I would go with the second listing it is a far less risky prospect.

2nd one looks fine.

I would not buy the 1st one period. The seller doesn't even take the time to write a decent description. Scam alert!

I know guys, I totally agree.

I talked to the seller of the first one.
Said it was passed down from their father who recently passed. I don't know what to do. I agree, its higher risk. Also possible higher reward. The thing might go for half of what the other one does, you know?

I am sure I'll end up buying the second one. I am just so intrigued by the first, lol.

Just thinking out loud here, but....shouldn't the minute hand be larger than the hour hand on the YM? I know its hard to see in this pic, but don't they look the same size? Chime in anyone. Any thoughts appreciated. I am thinking I am definitely out for number 1.

That and the fact Swiss made is not centered on the bottom of the dial on the first worries me but the pic is poor quality hard to see properly.

Number one I am not even discussing
Number 2 has a store in La Jolla, Ca. with two "Porkies" and a Ferrari parked outside.
You can see his web site below - a bit expensive if you ask me - 7k for his YM
is above sub two tone money and close to two tone Daytona money - for a 5 year old watch.
Call and offer $6300 shipped - as he says that the watch has box and papers and in mint condition.
Personally I must want a YM badly to even pay $6300.

If the "porkies" and the Ferrari belong to customers it may be a good sign ... if they belong to the staff it could explain the 7K asking price

lol you guys are too funny.

I found a few YM's for 6k. But, the one these guys are selling is a 2008, with the engraved inner bezel. Which I really like. Do you think its not worth it?

Yes, I like the "newness" of an engraving
if the watch is 2006 or 2008 it does not matter the warranty has expired
He declares 2008 maybe so - you decode and decide.
Z serials came out Mid-2006
M serials came out 09/2007
V serials came out 09/2008

Can you all see what a gift from god...
is the random serial... for used watch sellers ?
..
Unethical sellers paradise
Buy a watch that is random serial with a non dated waranty card
and instantly your 5 or 6 or 7 year old becomes a 2 year old...just out of the warrany

Very interesting comment , especially when you might expect that Rolex intended to get the opposite result when introducing the random serials . The AD does not have to discount his "old stock " any longer either .

Yeah that's so interesting! Thanks for pointing that out!

I guess more than actual age or warranty, I just like the way it looks. All of my other watches have the engraved inner bezel. I wouldn't want my new watch to feel old!

Exactly...Rolex wanted to eliminate the headache from the AD's
when knowledgeable clients (naturally) question the "newness" of a watch
which was gathering dust for more than 10 years ie. something without a date
Now...with the random serials the entire inventory is always current and brand new
hence their insistence for dating waranty cards once the watch is sold.

But the used or gray market also takes advantage of the random serial
introduction... and there is no way you can dispute with them that the watch
they are offering to you is not 2 years...but 8 years old.
..."it ain't matter no more"...

1) skip for obvious reasons
2) better deals elsewhere
