Interesting observation re: accuracy checker

I've notice that my G-Shock (which adjusts itself via a radio signal daily) and my Verizon cellphone are in perfect sync. In other words, when the digital second counter on the G-shock hits "01", the minute advances on the cellphone - every time I check it.

I figure this is good enough for me as an accuracy checker for my Rolex.

I check my wearing watch around every two weeks or so, last time I checked it was less than a minute fast, thats accurate enough for me I don't need the exact second.

Your G-Shock is only as accurate as it's latest update to NIST.

Your cellphone is only as accurate as it's latest ping to a tower.

Time.gov is the most accurate means of getting the correct time.

How accurate your watch is relative to the correct time is a matter of personal taste.

The bottom line is that everyone should have an accurate time reference and for those on the internet, time.gov is the best choice..

Not. This page does not even know that there are other countries beside USA.

The clock in my 2011 BMW drifts by several minutes every season. Always ahead and by 2-3 minutes. Cellphones can be way off. A nice cheap $10 quartz from the grocery store is a good reference when set to time.gov. That's what I do anyway

I just don't care. I set my watches' time accuracy with my Macbook Air.

Went to time.gov - it's exactly the same as the G-Shock - to the second

Time.gov? I would think that phoning the U.S. Naval Observatory would be more accurate than relying on a website passing through IP exchanges for accuracy: 202-762-1069.
