Rolex Production #'s

Does Rolex release the number of specific models produced each year? I am specifically looking to see how many Sub C's are produced vs Daytona's each year. Seems as there are tons of new Subs vs not many Daytona's. Do you think it's a 20 to 1 percentage?
Thanks Pete

Welcome

Rolex are a private company and do not release production figures. Total production each year is estimated to be roughly 750000 watches. In my time at a dealership (mid-sized), we would receive about 12 SS Sub Dates and 8 SS Daytonas per year, it's just down to a combination of demand and grey market resellers that makes the Daytona seem so unobtainable. The Daytona is certainly more common than most other SS sports models (at least in my experience), only the GMT and Sub Date were delivered more. Right now, there are 16 SS Daytona 116520s available on one popular UK reseller's website, so there is no shortage of watches available, just not from ADs

Afraid know one would have that information except Rolex but what we do know they produce around 800000 watch units a year a few years back quite a few more. And no modern day Rolex could be considered as rare, but as the subs have been Rolex biggest seller right through the many decades. There would be far more subs in the world than Daytona's, again there would be far more DJs than Subs.
