Just bought a Rolex 179173 , how much does it cost?

Just bought a 2nd hand Rolex 179173 in HK. May I know what is the reference 2nd hand price of this one?

Anyone know what is the name of this dial? Seems pretty!

It is just call PINK.
The PINK Dial is for the 2 tone Rose Gold/SS 179161/179171
or
Rose Gold 179165/179175.

Take a look on ebay to get an idea of preowned . It's a good starting reference point or just search on the for sale section here on TRF with "179173".

but seems that it's not a normal dial... as I see on the surface of the dial, it look like some marbles. And it is a D serial watch. Anyone know how much does it cost?

So to answer your question - mid $7K-ish to mid $8K with that dial combo. New is $10,650 so condition rules the range of prices.

Your question is fair because buying without this knowledge in advance always leave you wondering, "Did I get a good deal?"

The price I bought may not equal to the exact 2nd hand market value. May be I bought at a higher or lower price. Can you get it?

Is it just me guys, but would Rolex use a hologram sticker on the case back with the new upgraded bracelet? It looks off to me. Pardon my ignorance if I am wrong.

He probably got it cheap from the ship captain, who bought it for his wife. But then disaster struck, his ship got stolen by somalian pirates and he needed money fast, to get home to China. But it's o.k., he left him a business card.

And those vain folks at Rolex AD would not even look twice at the watch. They must be jealous. That's it.

.

Your dial is this one from Mcat 2005/6 (D serial). Normally not for a YG TT model 179173.

Looks authentic to me. Looks like a pink stone dial of some variation with diamond hour markers. I would think retail on this watch was north of $10k with current prices. Normally 60 to 70% off retail for 2-tone models would give you a ball park of pre-owned values.

I will take the watch to RSC for checking. As RSC can check my watch after 7 Jan, so I need to wait. There is an answer at that time and I will tell you all.

even if RSC believe that to be a genuine dial (which personally I doubt) then they wouldn't work on the watch unless it was fitted with a dial correct for a 179173.

Settle down Mr. Pip. He asked a valid question based on your initial post. Your question would probably have been better suited for before you bought the watch.

Don't take this so seriously and you just might learn a few hundred or so things on here.

Exactly what I was going to say!

The most accurate reference for what something is worth would usually be the last price someone paid for it, so you should already know the answer to your own question.

If you are now, after the fact, wondering if you paid more or less than what others have historically paid, I suggest you do some research here in the for sale section, on eBay, and a general internet search as well. What we all may think ultimately becomes irrelevant, if you are happy owning the watch, and could afford the purchase. As you already bought it, everything else is moot. This question is best asked before a purchase.

Enjoy your watch, Happy 1 year TRF Anniversary, and an early Happy New Year!
