Icon20 Levi Strauss & Co!

Happy Holidays TRFers!

So I was at work on Friday evening (Thrift Store) and I was doing a little bit of cleaning up the Men's long sleeve shirts aisle; which means picking up and hanging stuff that people are too lazy to pickup, after they dropped it!

I stumbled across this Levi Strauss & Co Western Denim Shirt. I've always liked Levi, even though I haven't had a pair of their jeans for a few years! I knew it was vintage, well because of the pearl buttons and the Levi logos. I'm going to say it's from the late 80's. I got this shirt for $5.79!!!

Took a few pics of it! I think it's a pretty neat find!
Now it's time to buy some Levi jeans again, I had the 514's in Grade 8. I'm still thin as I was then, so I think some 514's would be nice!

Post your Levi jean pics and even vintage Levi stuff!

Happy Holidays!!!!!

Adam,

Just wore the Eddie Bauer version [need the longer arms] last night. A great American classic that is the perfect compliment to a comfortable evening.

Dan that's a nice shirt!

Anyone recommend a specific model of Levi's for me?

Cool score. I find myself doing the same thing. I am not to good to go to goodwill or a thrift store and scout for vintage clothes. You would be surprised the stuff you can get there.

Absolutely, that would be a very pompous if someone cannot go into a thrift store! Thrift stores are super neat!

I've been wearing my Invicta on the NATO with the shirt all day, a perfect match!

So my local Levi store is having their Boxing week sale!

So I went in and picked up a pair of 514's for $32!

Let's see your Levi jeans people!

Wasn't Levi Strauss one of the "waltz kings," along with his relatives Johann and Richard?

When I was in high school the shrink-to-fit 501s were the rage. I still have two pairs from 1978 - good old made in USA Levis. Also have their classic trucker jacket from a few years later. Now my daughter wears it.

The 514's are a Slim Straight jean. Straight leg, slim thigh and seat. The 501's are straight leg, classic more wide thigh and seat. I was going to get the 501's with the button fly, but I found the 514's fit me better.

It used to be that it was uncool for the young to wear Levis because it was considered for the old (baby boomers). But, I've noticed a resurgence and now it's OK (or cool?) for them to wear Levis.

Oh absolutely! I love Levi's, they're great quality jeans. A lot of my teenager friends like American Eagle, Aeropostale, Hollister jeans; I quite like Levi's and GAP Jeans! I've had a pair of GAP jeans since early 2011, they're great!

Here's my vintage jean jacket. I received it as a Christmas present in the early 80's and I remember sleeping in it the first night I got it. It's too small for me now and the collar is almost gone but I can't bear to part with it.

WOW! What a beautiful jacket!!! The vintage collectors would go crazy over that thing!
