Icon2 Vacation pics from Christmas

Brasil. The growth is amazing in Recife. They tear down the Favelas and throw up 20 stories worth of luxury apartments, everywhere. It has to be in the top 10 cities for growth in the world.

Traffic is a nightmare, infrastructure needs upgraded or the city is going to implode on its self. 10th time here, skyline changes on a monthly basis. Economy is booming country wide.

The house's with the red tile are slowly disappearing. 2 million dollar apartments surrounded by slums.

Nice pics, what is creating all of this wealth and growth in Brazil? Are the Rolex sales increasing too?

It is pretty much self sufficient, taxes on buying anything is crazy high. They don't need to import much, huge gas reserves, sugar and agriculture items. My TT GMT IIc can be had for a measly 20k USD BNIB They import a lot of cars though, you can't really drive, traffic is nuts..(Think Sao Paulo)

That means that the prices of the homes should be going up as land value goes up

Left the beaches, garotas, wiskey(polished off 2 bottles of green label) plus a ton of caipiarinha's and gained 10 pounds. My girlfriend is not happy, her birthday is January 1st, mine is December 30th, she's still in Brasil and was hoping I would stay, but that wasn't going to happen. On my way to North Carolina for the UNLV @ UNC game this Saturday at @ 2 pm EST.

Should be a great game. Wearing my lucky watch !!

Have a happy and blessed New Years everyone.
Mark
