Thoughts on this Tudor Chrono

This guy seems to have sold some nice stuff.

The story however, makes me unsure. The movement also doesn't look right.

Thoughts?

Could be exactly as the seller describes. However, without documentation, it's only speculation at best. Never heard or seen a display back on Tudor chronos.

Thanks Dan,

I think the 3 looks off as well, at least compared with other 79160s. If real, the price is fair I guess, though I wish it had the original clasp and not the Rolex flip lock.

Bracelet reference seems wrong as well. I think 79260s should have the 78400 bracelet with 605 ELs not the same bracelet and ELs as the Big Block (78360/589 ELs).

This watch is what I'm looking for, but may be too much risk/trouble.

Any other opinions?

". The guy on TZ i bought this from explained to me that Tudor Chronographs with display back were only sold to Rolex employees."

This is complete BS.
Why would Rolex bother to make special spare parts only for their employees???

A case back without original engravings impacts a lot the value of the watch.
I would stay away.

The story about the caseback is nonsense, what else do you think might be untrue in his ad? Maybe nothing, but I would never take a risk like that.
