How many have had Maxi dials...
How many have Maxi dials "ruined" their joy/love/liking of their older models?
Not Vintage hour markers of course...which are the original Maxi! I find that it makes me appreciate my 14060M more when I wear it "like" its vintage even though it isn't. But I must admit that the first time I put it on after wearing the LV for a week or so I'm like... But then I quickly get use to it. Just a random post/question to hear your thoughts... |

I prefer the maxi and don't see myself buying any watches with a non-maxi dial.

Great to have both dial variations. Whenever I start to miss maxi dial I go to bank safe and retrieve it and wear it until I miss the regular dial again.

No, I went from the 16610LV to the Sub-C so I've been maxi dial for a while.

Pretty much. Once I got the LV I knew I'd never go back. The maxi dial is pretty much the only reason I got the LV in the first place.

Currently I have a 16800 matte and a GMT 2c. Previously I had a 16610 and 16710. The GMT 2 c is obviously maxi and the plots in the 16800 look larger in comparison to the non-maxi white gold plots. Now that I have these bigger plots (and hands in the case of the 116710), the older plots just look tiny to me.
Like the previous poster, I think the maxi has ruined me as well.

Yes ...
My 16610 LV has absolutely ruined my 14060 for me, so much so that I ended up selling it.
Ironically when the LV Maxi dial came out I thought of it as too Seiko'ish. (no offence to Seiko's, i've owned a few and still love them) |

For me, (besides the green bezel) my Sub-C is the better watch. There is just something special about the LV that keeps me missing it. Your pic does NOT help! haha

I had two, also. My first one I bought new. Like an idiot I sold it, then I tried to replace it the year after with a pre-owned example. Didn't work. I just can't do pre-owned. Luckily I was working with one of the best trusted sellers on the forum and he let me return it. After looking for a BNIB version (after they were discontinued) I decided on the Sub-C. Glad I did.

I was about to buy a seadweller, but I just can't get over small dials. I'll just save money to buy white gold submariner. :P :P

I like my 16570...and I like my 116610 too. I guess I am an equal-opportunity Rolex dial lover.

i still can't get used to the maxi dial. to me, the plots look bloated and somewhat cartoonish. you simply can't beat the original style. 50 years of regular sized markers can't be wrong, right?

I like both type of dials (and have both - 16610LV - 16600) .
But sold my 14060 to get an maxi 5513 matte dial.. |

Before I fell in love with my most recent find, I had ordered a 16710 coke.
I love the watch and think it is beautiful. That said, I haven't even worn it. I really appreciate the size of the case and the overall styling. BUT, I do prefer the maxi of the new watches. Love the combo you have in your LV. Pretty damned close to the perfect watch.

I like the maxi actually. It gives it a lil variety to the collection.

Either way is fine. I think the modern maxi rounds out the chunky lines. The super maxi on the 216570 is great. The new 39mm Explorer could have benefited from a maxi dial of sorts with chunkier hands

Here's my 'variety' shot. Not necessarily apples-to-apples, but you get it.
