Maybe it's a cultural difference, but where I come from(Sweden) it's a big no-no to wear a wrist watch with white tie.
I only wear it myself a couple of times a year nowadays, but that's about the only occasion I take of my wrist watch. |

I have to wear a morningsuit quite often and I always wear a watch with it, sometimes even a sportwatch! I think it looks good! And certainly young people don't mind anymore.
