[/I][/B]Hi guys...happy new year to you all. I am new to this forum so go gently on me. I have just committed to a 1 year old rolex submariner from my local jeweller. The watch is the bi-metal blue with ceramic face/bezel. The watch comes complete with credit card and all details, inner box, outer box, cloth, watch mount.

However the watch does not have the submariner pamphlet, cosc pamphlet, inner wallet, bezel protector or tags.

Does the absence of these additional items detract from the watch ie. should I bid less without these? The credit card I would have thought is the main item. Comments/advice please

Wouldn't worry about those items at all, the warranty card is most important, you can buy the box, pamphlets,bezel protector and hang tags here or on ebay all together for 150-200 if you want to make it complete.

The answer is "yes", use anything lacking as a negotiating arrow in your quiver.

Simply say you wished for a complete set which will require you to source the missing elements at a cost. Then offer your first offer below asking price.

While I agree these trinkets are not worth the price they fetch on eBay, etc., the seller doesn't need to know that. You're negotiating - I assure you if it is pre-owned the seller has ample margin to offer you some price consideration.

Not sure what you mean by 'committed' but still 'bidding'?

I would wait for a complete set at that price point.
Rumour has it that SubDate TT's don't hold their price like the SS models.
You might need an edge down the track if you ever want to sell it?

I would not pay more than 8500 for one with all paperwork. 8k for one with no paperwork. I see people asking 9.5 to 10k but they are not selling they are just asking. Be patient and one will turn up.

I agree. If the extra little things don't mean much to you then offer low. If they do then wait for a complete set.

Welcome to TRF! As other have stated, make a huge fuss about it and get a few Benjamins knocked off. In reality (TRF reality), it doesn't matter much. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the advice. Yes I am UK based (like the quote re. Elizabeths). I am not actually a complete rolex virgin. I have a ceramic gmt-master 2 and a yachtmaster bi-metal. The current retail in the UK is £8950 for the ceramic blue TT sub. I have managed to negotiate a price of £6250.00for the watch from a my local watch dealer.

I am a frequent buyer from him so he has let me have it at cost and it was a trade in for another watch from his shop. The dealer is an AD for breitling, omega and blancpain and is reputable.

The credit card has all the correct information on it which stacks up with the watch reference numbers. The watch was bought just over 12 months ago from Goldsmiths and the original owners details are on the card with the dealer stamps.

Could someone direct me to someone reputable on this forum where I could buy these additional items. I don't think I can knock down the price any further to reflect the lack of these items and I believe most of them are generic (no references). Do you think this price is good?...the watch is 99% perfect as per a new one and I haven't been able to find a cheaper one anywhere...tried blowers, banks lyon, chrono 24.

All you need to worry about is the watch being authentic, then the warranty paperwork (card) matching the watch and serial # and its authenticity, then the box the watch comes in. All else is not needed and really shouldn't effect the watch value.
