Any thoughts on this Zenith Captain?
I've been preoccupied with this Zenith Captain Central Seconds for awhile. I love the retro domed dial & the gold hands & markers seem to make it pop a little more than the comparable JLC Master Control (which is also on my list). Anybody care to share an opinion?
I've never seen one live & they don't ever come up for sale on the forums. I know Zenith generally has a good reputation here. Anyone know if they use in house movements for their non El Primeros? Thanks for any feedback! |

That's a great watch I've been admiring them for some time but ultimately opted for a JLC dress watch. The Zenith Elite movement is indeed in-house, and it has a reputation of being very accurate.

This is a great watch. I held it in person and I loved it. Too bad, I loved it in rose gold a bit more and I could not afford it at that time. I'd take it over JLC given a much better bang for a $.

I thought about getting one of those for myself as well. Really like what Zenith has been doing in getting back to the basics. I tried it on at the Zenith boutique recently and it is a really great looking watch.
The Elite movement is Zenith's other signature all in-house movement (other than the El Primero). At 40mm, I thought the watch wears pretty big (for me anyway) and this is mainly due to the thinness of the Elite movement (only 3.47mm thick) - so the watch lays very flat on the wrist with the overall case measuring in at 8.15mm thick. Lastly, its great value for money as well. Visit an AD and try it out. |
