Datejust II Question with Accidentally loosening the crown...

Folks,

Happy New Year!!!

So, this is a weird question to a weird situation. I was wearing a long sleeved shirt today and I noticed that my wrist became a bit sweaty while wearing my brand new DJII. When I took it off to wipe it, I noticed that the my sleeve accidentally loosened the crown, but not all the way open. Is my Rolex safe? or Can the condensation from my wrist get in there and ruin my watch?

Thank you for your help!

M

Unless you were sweating so much that you were standing in a puddle I wouldn't worry about it. Also, if your shirt is able to loosen your crown, it wasn't tight enough. Finger tight should suffice.

I wouldn't worry about the condensation in the watch but more about how your sleeve could have loosened it. Hopefully it was just that you did not tighten it enough yourself and not something more serious.

You guys are awesome for the quick responses... I really do not know how it got loosened, but I do not see any condensation at all.

Even if the crown had come completely unscrewed, the water resistance is not compromised. The various ratings for modern Rolex watches are valid even with the crown unscrewed due to the gasket/ring(s) that seal the stem within the case.
