White Baton DJII or Grand Seiko Snowflake

I am looking for a white dial SS everyday watch. These are the two models that are singing to me. And they can be had at similar pricing. I am well aware the ultimate decision is mine but I am looking for advice (I know, on a Rolex forum!). I was just hoping to gain further insight that might aid me with the quantitative decision making aspect. I have a few other Rolexes (including a polar Exp II) and an AP, so the decision is strictly between these two.
Again I am only asking for help because I have gained previous valuable insights from TRF members that helped me through other purchases. Thank you.

The DJII with stick dial is one of the most versatile watches I have ever owned. It can be dressed up or down and could very easily be a 24/7 wearer for me if I ever decided to downsize my collection. So, I am sure you can guess what my vote would be.

I'll probably be the only one but I'd vote snowflake as its a) not very common and b) GS represents a tremendous value for what you get.

The Seiko - the dial is utterly gorgeous, nothing else quite like it out there

Snowflake has my vote! I think the power reserve indicator is a great feature and I love the look of it (especially with the blue'd steel second hand). Besides, I think it would add diversity to your collection.

If you didn't already have the Exp and the AP I would say DJII

Since you do - Snowflake!

I will vote DJII as well because it is a chunky handsome watch that sings like a choirboy, and because I would really like to have one.

That's a tough call.. They are both incredibly great looking watches both with pedigree... I'm a big fan of Seiko and have some vintage GS etc. but in saying that I recently bought a DJ11 for a work daily... It truly is a beautiful watch......

You are not alone out there.....+1. Finishings and quality are on another level and you will add fizz to your collection. My only issue w GS is the resale value compared to Rolex.

No comparison. Go with DJII, much better resale value, etc. Rolex is a ROLEX. Seiko is well...just a Seiko.

Agreed about the Rolex resale value, but have you seen a GS Hi Beat in person and tried it on. It is an incredible watch that easily competes with the Swiss big boys. The whole watch including the blade hands, dial, and beveled case oozes quality and has more stringent time regulation than COSC. I don't know about resale, because they are so rare that I have never found a latest used model for sale on the net.

How about getting a very heavily discounted GS? or second hand?

Hmm...don't you already have a white dial SS everyday watch in the polar Exp II?

Both are gorgeous watches. And I aspire to own a GS one day.
