Awesome Co Workers

As some of you know i'm an Air traffic controller at Chicago Center. Tomorrow is my last day because i'm transferring to O'hare Tower and my area coworkers gave me a little going away present. Cup cakes, gift cards, and ...

They said I needed something pimpy-er than my Rolex.

I feel really blessed to have worked with a lot of great people at Chicago center for 7 years and I look forward to remaining in touch with them as I start the next chapter of my ATC life.

Great gift and great friends you have Pal.

I see only one problem with the watch.

It's only rated at 100ft?

I think that is awesome!!!! Very nice that the coworkers are so thoughtful... Most places have the attitude of being nice enough to not let the door hit the back...

I'll bite...what kind of watch is that? Is it a dollar store watch, and that is a gag gift?

LOL
It was a gag gift. They told me they wanted to find the largest, and most hideous watch possible...so they went to Walmart. Nuff said LOL.

I wont get rid of it. The thought behind it show how much my friends know me and I really appreciate the effort they went through to make me smile.

Well all I can say is respect.
Air traffic control must be one of the most stressful jobs out there.
I fly a lot and am grateful to you guys to get me back on the ground without bumping into another plane.

Wonderful I have a friend like that too. We used to get each other birthday presents like that. Time to revive that tradition

I am a pilot myself and I really love the work the Air Traffic Controllers do . . . especially in the US . . .

In Europe the airspace is so complicated . . . that you are always flying around areas . . .

In the US you ask for a 'direct to' . . . and depending where you are located . . . it works mostly for 99 % . . . time & money saved !

Congrats with the new job !

And who knows . . . . may be one day we talk to each other . . . actually what will you be doing . . arrivals . . departures . . . ?

The Area I worked at Chicago Center handled all of the inbound aircraft that originated in the EU (along with many other flights). Now i'll be the tower controller handling Clearance Delivery, Metering, Inbound and Outbound ground and Local.

I used to work for SAS (My dad retired from them a few years ago) and talk to SK945/943 and SK944/946 everyday at Chicago Center.

Nice gifts! And enjoy O'Hare, perhaps you'll be the controller guiding down SK 943 next time I'm there!
