5513 2.3 million m/f

I went to look at this 5513 2.3 million meters first sub. The owner said that he bought it new in 1970 for $325.00, no papers nor box. I noted that the bezel insert has aged a great deal compared to the dial. Is this normal?

Thanks,

Lawrence

It is the sellers photo, I should have taken my own photos.

I have since flipped it but I had a 68 m/f 5513 with a faded bezel - you can see it in my avatar. So I'll say yes but you do need a better pic before the real experts can help you. Mine was a serial 2.4mill if that helps

Yes, there are certain batches of Sub bezel inserts that faded like this. They're known as "ghost" inserts. Here's my faded insert on my 5512. However, there are fake ones out there, too, so be careful. (Virtually all the cool vintage Rolex patina'd items are being faked now in Asia.) And this bracelet looks like an old Speedy Pro bracelet, not a Rolex bracelet. Still, it's hard to tell anything from the photo. If the seller really wants to sell, ask for detailed, close-up photos of everything. These watches are expensive. I wouldn't provide a bad, blurry photo like this for a $50 Ikea bookcase I was trying to sell.

Is it just the angles or what is up with the bracelet?

Stoner319- There was an aftermarket bracelet when I received it. It came off and a NATO went on.

Has my case been polished a lot?

Thanks,

Lawrence
