Uneven Bracelet Question
So I lost some weight recently and just generally wanted my watch to fit a bit more snug on my wrist
So I went back to the AD today this afternoon and had a link removed. No charge in and out in about 15 minutes (I was in a hurry to get back to work). I get home and notice now the bracelet is a bit uneven (more links one side than the other) as far as the feel on my wrist it is fine and fits snug like I wanted so no problem there my question is: Can the bracelet being uneven hurt the bracelet overall in any way? thanks in advance and here are some pics to help better articulate the issue Notice the left is longer than the right short side long side short side on wrist clasp

As far as I know, no problems with that.
Mainly because I've always worn my bracelets unevenly. |

i think the link should have been taken out from the other side (12 oclock position) to center the clasp better.

How could it possibly affect the bracelet if it's uneven?
If anything...with the bracelet the way it is now, you'll get fewer scratches on your clasp.

There isn't an issue with value, however, I think they should have centered the clasp on your wrist. I am driving 2 hours Sat to an AD to adjust my newest watch and for my 20 bucks the clasp better be centered.

Wouldn't be an issue, but the clasp should be centered on your arm...appears that it is quite a bit to the side. Might just be the picture, but I would have tried taking one from the other side to size it. It's easy enough to do on your own though with the right size driver

Hi,
I have exactly the same no. of links on 6 and 12 o'clock as yr watch. Works fine. The clasp underside bar should be centered at base of wrist, not the clasp cover itself. Took me a few fittings to get it right. I actually had 1 link removed from 6 o'clock position and placed at 12 o'clock side as the watch was initially pulling in the 12 o'clock position. Alwyn |

shouldn't be a problem as I also wear my bracelets uneven, really hard to get even link count on each side and center the clasp under the wrist ... and still get a comfy fit.

Transfer one removable link from the long side to the short side and you'll be good to go.

It doesn't matter what your watch looks like when you dangle it in the air like that..
What matters is how it fits your wrist.. A wrist is not perfectly symetrical and pronation of the wrist moves the watch around... Adjust it so you get the best fit, not so it "dangles" at some idealistic position.. (most will need fewer links on the 6 side than on the 12 side to be able to properly see it when you rotate it towards your face..)

I have always had one fewer link on the 6 o'clock side to center my watch when worn. I don't care what it looks like dangling.
Regards. |

How the bracelet fits is a matter of comfort however, if it bothers you take it to your closet AD and have them adjust it exactly the way that YOU want.

I was told by my jeweler (not an AD) that the uneven aspect of the two ends of the bracelet is deliberate, because the bracelet actually rotates less when the "non-crown" end of the clasp sits against the "inside edge" of the wrist when the arm is rotated to view the clasp (as opposed to having the clasp centered on the underside of the wrist in this position). I do notice that the 12-o'clock side of the watch head does seem to rotate a bit toward the outside edge of the wrist, but it's not a big enough deal to bother with.

I prefer mine even, otherwise I feel the watch head wanting to rotate itself throughout the day.

When bought with nothing touched isn't the bracelet have move links on one side than the other. You would have to have it like that because of the clasp ?

From my understanding, there is no rule on how many links should be on each side. As long as the clasp is in the center of your wrist, then you're fine. The most important thing is that it fits best on you. Everybody has different sized and shaped wrists.

Just move one link from one side to the other. If you leve it the way it is I highly doubt the bracelet would be affected in any way

It's easy to take out or switch around links yourself if you have a tiny screwdriver. I use the one that comes in eyeglass repair kits - couple of bucks at the drugstore. I find an uneven clasp pretty uncomfortable as it digs into my wrist. |
