Snow Dweller and major snow storm...

My SD becomes a Snow Dweller. Which is good, because like most of Eastern Canada and North Eastern USA, we're getting some major snow depth.

I wonder if the 1200 meter depth rating is also good for 1200 meters deep of snow.......

First pic is of the SD outside in action, the second shows a drfit on my deck from inside the house.

Brrrrr....

I was brushing down the pool in a t-shirt today...(well, I had Levis and a GMT on too)

Gotta do those chores in the daylight before the sun goes down and it gets a bit nippy..

Definitely snowy in Buffalo today...which is very strange. Buffalo is typically known for being the sunlight oasis of the northeast, with ambient temperatures almost NEVER slipping below 85!

We're due to get about 25cm of snow by tonight. Its been snowing since early this morning. That HEV might come in handy when shovelling the snow lol

2 storms in 3 days - YUK!
Running out of places to put the snow after shoveling.
We are expecting more on Wednesday and again possible on Friday.
White Christmas - Yeah, I'm afraid so.

Man that looks cold. I'm sure it gets colder than that at 4000' underwater. I think it would be fine. Be safe in that weather.

I need that much snow if I want to buy another Rolex. I'm in the snow removal business here. So far we only got a couple little deicing events. Send some down my way.

The wet suit extension in the clasp comes in very handy for wear over multiple layers of cold weather clothing. I used to wear mine the way illustrated in cold climates.

We missed the event they were calling for here in DC. For the past few days all the weather guessers were calling for a snow/ice/and the ol' wintery mix. We ended up with a little rain and now high winds - 40 - 50 mph gusts. But better that than 6" of that white stuff.

I spent 4 hours with the snow blower and shovel today. then the *&^#@!! snow plow went by. Pretty much worn out now, but I guess that's the price you pay for a corner lot with 2 driveways.

On the other hand, it could have been worse. Check out these pix posted by an eastern Canadian member of another website a few years ago. Now that's a lot of snow!

I like the way you wear your "Snow-Dweller". Reminds me of this:

You can have the next storm no problem!! Already 20" here in beantown, more than we had all last winter. Actually the last two or three have been mild, we were due for a bad one and if this keeps up it's going to be bad. We don't usually get snow burnout until mid January or February, It's not even Christmas yet and people have had it!

Nice shots Al. Yep, the Maritimes (Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and New Brunswick) get the heaviest snowfalls in Canada, but especially Newfoundland, owing to the North Atlantic ocean effect. Massive loads of snow, as evidenced by the pix of people up to their roofs in snow.

Our big blow is over now, and the temps are cold enough (-26 degrees celcius with windchill last night....plugged the cars in!)

I'm finding that I wear the SD over my winter wear using the diver's extention now, its a great adaptation to the situation.

Best,

C
