change the dial or not?

I was wondering what should I do, My Gmt Master 16750 is up for service and considering changing the dial for a service one. My original one has some patina around the lower dial and the 2nd hour marker is losing the luminescent. would changing that dial to a service one affect the value of the watch? What should I do?

If you ever plan to sell it, keep it original. If not, change it.

I like that dial...if the "patina" (which in my mind is a kind/nice word for "rot") gets worse then I'd want a new dial.

I don't like patina...and sooner or later when it gets "bad" it reminds me that it is "breaking down".

Surprised at that comment to me..."foolish"...? Its my opinion. Obviously the OP doesn't like it either thus his post/question on changing the dial.

I even said at this point "I like that dial"...I don't like it when they get too "patina'd". I can't have an opinion without being told I"m/my comment is foolish?

Natural darkening of tritium is anything but rot. Yes you can have an opinion but to call patina rot is plain foolish. Remember there are lots of us vintage enthusiasts and collectors around here. You have a special way about you of rubbing people wrong. Perhaps you forgot why you were banned in the past?

I like it. I wouldnt touch it. It shows character and tells a story. I am under the opinion that newer is not always better with watches. Some times newer is only newer and the company convinces you its better only to sell you another watch.
