Your watch is just as new as the "random serial numbers" out there. NOT old stock.
Enjoy the awesome LVC! |

G serials and random serials are both current stock in ADs.
Your G serial could in fact be newer than a random serial one. Who knows? Anyway, don't worry about the tiny numbers and letter(s) etched at the 6 o'clock position on the rehaut and just enjoy your watch. And congratulations! |

Well since Rolex did not release the 116610LV till Basel 2010 and they did not show up for retail sale till the latter part of 2010/early 2011.And seeing G serials and the so called Random case stamps has been running since since the latter part of 2010.Its safe to say that any 116610LV cannot be that old and no matter the case stamp. Whether G random or any other case serial stamp Rolex watches in general will run for 50 plus years just with routine care. And when bought new they all get the same two year warranty no matter the case stamp. So we can safely say your case was stamped sometime between 2010 and present time. Now when the exact hour, day, month, or year your completed watch was made well only Rolex knows that.

Peter - first off congrats on the new watch.
How fitting that you'd choose a matching screen name 4 years before buying it! Is the new LV in your avatar?

My LV purchased this January is also a G-serial. My AD had to order it so it wasn't sitting around in the store for a long time.

Rolex has a bin system for pulling parts so you could even order a new watch and have it be a v or g serial. At least this is what my ad has fed me. I just ordered a new sub but now I am curious to see if its random or not.

G's are still being shipped alongside Random. A V serial is not even considered 'old stock' New Old Stock usually refers to discontinued models, that an AD has BNIB |

G and Random started in 2010.... so your 116610LV can potentienally be a 2010 watch. but highly unlikely
