RIP Alvin Lee: guitarist extraordinaire and rolex wearer?

check out his iconic woodstock performance. is he wearing a sub? it sure looks as if he's wearing a stainless steel rolex....

I can't believe it, what a bummer!

May Alvin Lee rest in peace, he was indeed a great guitarist.

What a talent - the Woodstock generation is getting older than we'd like to think...

Sad to hear. A Space in Time one of my favorite vinyls. I'd love to change the world.

He's " gone home " ...to be with his "baby" ...the ultimate opening guitar riff heard at stoner parties in the early 70s !

RIP

the guitar lead on "i'd love to change the world" is a great example of the confluence of ability, taste, and tone. it doesn't happen often.

RIP, alvin lee.

Before I got married years and years ago I shared a place with a buddy. He intro'd me to Alvin Lee esp Cant Stop from RX5 album. My Buddy passed of cancer in 2007 and I always remembered him (good friends are rare y'know) when I heard that particular song. Still the only single I have bought as a single from iTunes.

What a guitarist. RIP.

Alvin Lee wouldn't play "I'd Love to Change the World" in any of their concerts. He wanted to stick with the blues. What a magnificent talent, and how sad it is to see these guys go down one at a time. Like losing a piece of your childhood every time.

With all my teenage years great guitar players passing and getting old.....like me... I always think of:
Remember me as you pass by
As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, you soon will be.
Prepare for death, and think of me
