rolex daytona

does anyone Know if fake daytonas are being produced with the serial numbers inside the watch just like the new real ones. I hope I explained myself correctly. The new Daytonas have the serial number visible as you look at the face of the watch just below the 6 marker.

Is there a fool proof way of checking is my daytona is real

This might sound funny but I have an explorer II and I have listened to the movement by putting the watch to my ear, and it sound just like the daytona in question.I have the box and the card along with all the tags that the watch came with.

If you took it to an AD with a watchmaker in house they could pop off the back and verify its authenticity.

If you don't know whether your watch is fake or not, it probably is.

I took my watch to ben brigdes and i was told that it all looked good but that it would have to be opened, but that the inside numbering was not being replicated....

The only way to be ABSOLUTELY sure, IMHO, is to be present when an AD fills out the warranty card on a new Rolex purchase.Short of that a watchmaker must open up the back, and then of course reseal the watch with a fresh gasket.

Well, I suppose if those bastids out there can duplicate the laser etched coronet, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to replicate the chapter ring!!!

I would only ever buy from an AD, just for the security aspect.

FYI, Rolex USA Headquarters in NYC on 5th Avenue, will provide free of charge an examination of your watch. Drop it of in the morning, pick it up in the Afternoon. They will mail you a Certificate of Authenticity. This is usually done for insurance purposes, (or if ever in doubt about your watch).
Keep in mind, that if it is fake you might not get it back.

I have. Except that they appear to be printed and not laser etched, so they are darker than the real thing.

Yikes. Yes, indeed, it does. Pretty shoddily done, though...
