Looks good to me, but I'm far from an expert.
Best of luck

i was thinking of offering the guy $4k and maybe willing to go to $4250. but looking at past ebay auction, im seeing a bunch of matte 16800s that went for $3.5-4k. thoughts on what would be a good deal?

no box/papers? I wouldn't pay much past 3500. but if you like the watch and plan on wearing it for a long time you probably won't lose any money at $4k. I just like making a few bucks when I decide to get rid of stuff.

i agree with liking to make a few bucks when trading in and out and my thought was $3500 after looking at these past auctions.

What does everyone think of this one? I'm a bit confused bc it is an 8.2mm serial but on the papers it says the ref is 16800A which is a 168000. Or am I reading the certificate incorrectly?

I asked the seller and he said it is a 16800.

My 16800 and his 16800 were roommates

Small world, my 16800 serial is 8272xxx (within 100) of each other. They must have shared a room together at some point.

Whats more interesting is the paperwork. Serial number on my warranty is hole punched and doesnt have the model# on it, but 16800 on the case.

Beginning around 1980 the USA papers contained the serial number and the model number and were typed not punched. Also they were in English not French.

The number at the top is correct for the certificate and the 16800. The number is referred to as the style number. After the early 1980's, the typed style number has more digits - and when a certificate contained the additional digits, the last four digits indicated the bracelet type. If it ended in 7836 it was a 78360 bracelet, and 9315 indicated a 93150 bracelet.

On most of the early 1980's, typed, USA certificates, the style number has less digits.

Also, I need to clarify my earlier post regarding the typed/punched papers. I said in my earlier post that typed warranty certificates started appearing around 1980 in the USA. I've seen both types used in the USA up until serial numbers beginning with a "7," after that, beginning around 1982/83, the USA warranty certificates were typed - at least all that I have seen. Also, if a particular model from the late 1970's was released for sale to a dealer during the early 1980's, it could have either type of warranty certificate as I have seen them both typed and punched.
