Typically, you should wear your watch snug and above the wrist bone..

This keeps it from digging into your wrist and putting stress on the bracelet when the wrist is bent since the tendons flex outward and enlarge that area..

Oddly enough ..Rolex, at one time , put the winding crown on the 9 0'clock side of the watch as an option for men who felt the stem dug into the back of their wrist.

Some think that it was for left handed wearers (right wrist), but it was for comfort on right handers (left wrist) who wore them low towards the hand..

For a number of reasons I, a right-hander, wear my Rolex Sub on my right hand. I think your wrists swell and shrink with the weather (.....add inappropriate reference here...) changes. I do fine the crown digs into the back of my hand. It's much better on my right hand. That's just me.

The watch shouldn't be too snug on the wrist. See pic below which will tell you about the perfect fit. You should be able to insert your index finger between the bracelet and the wrist bone!!

...or even below the clasp and the wrist!!

Probably taken about 18 months back.....but that hardly matters in the context of this thread. I'm just trying to show you how to gauge whether your watch is too tight or too loose.

I can't put a finger between the wrist and clasp on my SD like JJ. If it were adjusted to that degree of looseness, the weight of it would cause the watch to slide over the ulnar bone (little finger side).

Mine are worn comfortable and not too tight:

I always used my pinky to judge the fit, instead of my index finger.

All I want to know is how did you get your finger between the clasp and the sheep without getting hurt?

Pfizer makes a little blue pill that can help with that.

Tardis,
that is an awesome wrist shot of your SD. absolutely beautiful.

i say wear whatever is comfortable for you. if it happens to be snug, so be it. is it comfortable? if its a little loose, so what? does it fit and feel right?

adjusting the band isnt rocket science. just play with it. literally

I wear my Rolex just a bit tighter than shown on JJ's pics. I wear the watch so that I can just put my little finger under the clasp.

I wear my watches a little on the tighter side like Bo. Most of the time they're worn between the wrist bone and hand. I can move it back past the wrist bone [toward the elbow] if they get too tight from expansion.

It looks like J.J. has an unusually small index finger!

(sorry J.J. but I had to say it!)

You know what they say about small index fingers.

Easier to pick your nose with.
