The first pic of the 4160 movement

After a lot of searching found this pic about the 4160 movement which is used in the Yachtmaster II.

Looks very complicated. It must have taken some brilliant engineering to create that movement. But I just wonder, would a yachtsman have the time or the patience to use these functions when he can just rely on a Seiko to do the same job? Seems very fiddly to me...

Quite possibly the most advanced movement on the planet, certianly beautiful in its own right as well. If they'd only restyled the dial & bezel. Can one still play with the countdown feature on the Rolex website? Hope so...

Great, I have said in one of my earlier posts that the majority of us a judgeing this watch on how it looks.
It is far and away the most advanced movement that Rolex produce and is a genuine work of art.
Still an ugly watch though.
