I just can't seem to do it.....

I ordered my Sub C Date last week, and am due to collect it(should have done already).... But I can't seem to get over swapping my Breitling Superocean 44 + £000's...... And am holding off the flip.....

I love the Sub, but am I mad to swap a pretty similar, v good looking watch for another similar v good looking watch!!

Should I????

Shouldn't I???

Can't afford the Sub alone and it's a Bday gift to myself so saving up is not an option really....

You know you want it :-)

It will hold its value so if you come to a point where you want to make a change back you should not have a problem. Also it will be a shorter timetable to save for a Breitling.

Swap for a DSSD or a Planet Ocean, not a Sub.

Don't say that Bernie.... I can buy a Planet Ocean outright and keep the Breitling for £700 less than the flip/swap....

It's driving me nuts!!!

Love the one you're with IMHO.

Forego the big birthday present and perhaps begin a Christmas fund to get a Sub and keep all you have already?

Look if you are having such a hard time letting go of the SuperOcean then you really shouldn't... you will only regret it later and try to buy it back!

Sub C Date is not hard to get... just keep putting the money away and buy when you are really ready... you will be much happier that way...

Just remember there is no Grail... only the next watch!

I like the PO a lot but the finish and the perfection of the SubC is really in a different league.

There is your answer !! The PO also comes in various sizes and I personally think the blue Ti looks great (much better that the black Sub).....(Have to say, the hulk is pretty nice though !).
Let us know what you decide, good luck from across the Pennines.

This, don't flip if what you're thinking about flipping is still singing out to you.

x2!

i flipped a 16570 white for a 116610LV and didn't have any doubts, and haven't had any regrets, either. i doubt i would have done the flip if i had any hesitation, though.

do you "need" the SubC? could you go for a pre-owned 16610LN and keep your breitling?

I understand your points, but I don't see the point in owning a Sub and a SO.

A flip to the sub or a keep the SO and buy something dressier perhaps

Just can't seem to see anything dressier I like...Rolex, Omega, Paneria, Breitling etc...

I like the Planet Ocean, but for the same reasons as having a Sub and PO I'm hesitating...

Watches are a passion or a hobby, or whatever you want to call it..

If people didn't swap, trade, or buy different makes and models it wouldn't be as popular to do as it is...

If you spend too much time trying to rationalize things like this you will never get off the dime and get anything done..........

They are wise words indeed....

1 Rolex v 1 Breitling & 1 Planet Ocean is the key quandary I'm trying to wrestle with/rationalise!!

Search for a preowned ceramic sub and you'll save alot less and need less time to save up. A birthday present to yourself is even more lenient in the time frame, you can always get yourself a present with no excuses for it..

If you like the style, trade it for the Super Ocean Chrono.

Having owned a subc, PO and Breitling Steelfish, I would get the one Rolex.

Yes, they really are not in the same league.

Given a choice between owning just the SubC or the SO (and no other watch), I would much rather have the SubC. One is a very nice watch and an icon, the other is a nice watch. The fact that you are hesitating, notwithstand this, tells me there is something about the SO that sings to you, for watever reason.

Given that is the case, I'd hold off doing the flip until you figure out what's holding you back. The Birthday is a self-imposed deadline that is causing you pressure - I'd ignore it.

I'm sure that given the chance to wear the Sub away from the false environment of an AD , for an hour or so the decision would be made.... But that ain't gonna happen.....

Right now I'm feeling like I'm gonna go do the business tomorrow!

Lets see what sleep brings...!

Thanks for the input all

Didn't do it..... I was in the town of the AD on business this pm, so had my SO in the car, all ready to do the trade.... Loitered around the shop window...looked at some more beautiful watches... Looked down at my own and........ Walked away..... Is this behaviour the norm I ask?! ;-))....stalking watches from the window side!!!
