Weird clasp sticking to skin question - new EXPII

I assure you all I am a perfectly normal human being!! Nonetheless, my new EXPII 216570 is annoying me to no end. It fits great, but the bottom of the EasyLink clasp, which is solild and polished, constantly sticks to my skin. I wear my watches loose enough so they can move around just an inch or so, but what happens here is that the head begins to shift down the wrist and then the clasp sticks to the skin and there you have it - annoying. Has anyone eklse had this weird problem - does anyone have any possible suggestions so that the polished clasp doesn't stick to the skin?? I know, I know, weird. Never had this issue with any previous watch and my PO clasp is open where it meets the skin, so it doesn't stick. I look forward to your input as well as the commentary which is sure to ensue as a result of this post! Thanks.

I have the same model watch, but I wear mine normal fit since it is a 42mm. I think I know what you are talking about though as my slightly more loose DJ (hidden clasp) will do that some. I think its just the physics of clean polished SS against skin? I'm sure there are alot of factors like hair on arm, perspiration, lotion, soap used in shower, etc...? Nothing to worry about, but if it bothers you maybe take note of some of the items above? Enjoy the watch!

My EXPII fits great, no issues. I might recommend wearing it a little tighter to help with your situation.

Have not experienced that and own an Exp II. Have you tried taking out a link to see if this suits you better? It might just be that you are wearing it too loosely and will be fixed by removing another link.

It does the same for me. I know exactly what you're talking about. I've tried three of the modern sport models and both sizes of the DJs. They all stick and drive me crazy.

That's why I only have older models before that clasp. The older watches are lighter and thinner, which I like also.

I think it's the shape of our wrists. The only thing you can do is transplant the links so that part of the clasp is more toward the inside of your arm. It worked on my GMT2, but the lopsidedness (new word - you're welcome) drove me crazy too.

Welcome to hell!

Funny you mention it, I have the exact same watch and been wearing it non stop for about a month. I have noticed a little bit of sticking, but not to the same extent you mention.

Last night as i was taking off the watch I realized there was a sticker covering the top of the clasp - the part that makes contact with the bottom of the wrist - guess it came loose and I had never noticed it. After removing it I've noticed the stickiness has diminished significantly. You may not have the same issue but worth checking it out.

Reviewing some of the pictures from Basel it looks like Rolex may be addressing this with what looks similar to a bead blasted finish. I solved the problem by brushing the polished surface to match the rest if the inner bracelet.

Thanks all. So I learned that I am not alone and most certainly not crazy! Anyway, Outr - how would one go about brushing the polished surface, that is exactly what I thought the clasp was going to be. Can I take it to an AD, can I do it myself, heck, maybe I will have to order a new clasp if they bead blast the new ones. Any more thoughts from others is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys - been on WUS for years, so this is first topic here on TRF after years of lurking. Thanks for the responses.

I've had the same thing with my Sub-C. After removing all remaining stickers from the clasp and bracelet, the sticking went away

I have the ExpII also and I have the same problem from time to time. I thought I was going mad and imagining it so I am glad that you have brought it up. It just happens sometimes. I live in Bangkok so can sweat quite a lot during the day. I thought it was this but I actually notice it at any time, whether sweating or not. It doesn't bother me too much but if Rolex have noticed something that is interesting

I have the ExpII and yes that polished part does stick to the skin and I love that it does because it helps keep the watch from slipping down over my wrist bone on to my hand. I don't think brushed metal will stick any less than poilshed metal. I think it is also happening because the head is heavier and forces the clasp to "dig" into the bottom of yoru wrist at and angle, which helps it stick to your wrist. I'd absolutely hate if my entire watch kept slipping all over my wrist. I think it looks terrible when men wear watches that loose.
