my gmt has stopped! help please
my gmt has stopped. I dropped it two days ago, and when I looked at it the next day it had stopped, i set the time again and it started losing time, and now i just woke up to see it had stopped again! I am in the Orlando Florida area until next wednesday, I would be willing to take it to a watch maker down here if ANYONE can recommend someone who works on Rolex, I bought it used from an AD in Pennsylvania in May, It is supposed to have a one year warranty.
I am heartbroken i dont know what to do... this is my first Rolly.... |

Sad to hear that. Take it to: http://www.orlandowatchco.com/
They're good guys... It's just north of Orlando, in the beautiful area called "Winter Park". There a few other vintage dealers on the same street, where you can pass your time, while the watchmaker does a diagnose on your GMT. |

OH MAN that sucks.. Got no real advice other get the watch to AD as soon as you can. Does raise one question though how shock proof are Rolexes. Yes they’re water resistant to great depths but what sort of knock or bang is too much for them??
Good luck getting it sirted as quick as possible. |

right now i cant afford to send it to the ad for a full rolex service, i was hoping to find a good watchmaker in the orlando area, since i am here on vacation to fix it. however, i am also going to call the ad who sold me the watch to see what the warranty will cover, because i did buy the watch used, from a rolex ad.

I am devastated to hear about this!
Rolex watches and drops are a bad match, especially on a wooden or tile floor. Since it's stopped, the issue could be a broken rotor shaft. Anyway, luckily it's an easily solved issue, and RSC or a Rolex-trained watch maker can set it right for you. But since damage caused by dropping your Rolex is not covered by the guarantee, you would have to pay for it being serviced. Best of luck!

I'd suggest you don't wind it or try to get it running on your own again... take it to that Florida AD that Claus suggested ASAP and good luck I hope it it an easy fix!

Wish we could help you with this one buddy..
If it is properly wound and properly set, and it does not work.. It needs professional help.. There are just too many things, both large and small, that a drop can knock about..

Err buddy Equardo...sorry to hear of your misfortune...
Orchi doesn't know about the rest...since there's great possibility that your GMT II would have the Cal. 3185 movement...Orchi would have pulled the crown all the way to stop the watch from functioning asap after the watch dropped on a hard surface... That would likely prevent further damage of the movement... |

Hate to pile on (but the good news is, it will soon be fixed)...wouldn't the GMT tell the correct time several times a day, not just two, like regular broken watches...LOL
