Which Submariner to add to my Yacht-Master 116622 BL?
Hi,
I recently sold my IWC Aquatimer 2000 because it was just plain uncomfortable on my wrist and I am close to deciding upon a Submariner as my dive watch. So this brings me to the 114060 and the 116610 LN. There have been MANY threads regarding which one is preferred. I am not asking that. My question is in the context of already owning a 116622 BL. Both have a black dial, squarer lugs, crown guards, brushed finish, ceramic bezels and different clasps to differentiate from the Yacht-Master. But the 114060 without the cyclops seems a bit more distinct. So which of these Sub's make the better match in your opinion? A few words as to why are always appreciated. Thanks, Bob |

SubC with date. A date function is a must have for me.

As somebody who hopes to get one in the not too distant future, I'd also vote for the SubC w/ date. I think it is better to be used to having the cyclops than having that split second of doubt when you look down and you think you're missing the date function.

No date for sure....why do you need a while diving! Personally I'd look for a LNIB 14060M with lug holes so you can wear a strap more securely. I'm not a huge fan of Nato's on no lug hole cases as the shouldered spring bars on the no holes case can catch on the strap. Normally I'd say this is not a huge issue, but since you are actually using your watch as intended, I'd give it some thought.

I like the cleaner look of the 114060, plus is a date function really worth an extra 1k to you?

A couple other factors
1) The $1,000 difference doesn't matter, so don't make cost an issue
2) the watch will be worn 20-30 days a year (50% diving) 3) I have other black dialed sports watches (1 w/date Blancpain, 1 wo/date Panerai) so this will be my 3rd black dialed sports watch |

I would pick the SubC you said it would be worn 50% diving and it will be a change from your cyclops on the YM.

I vote for the 114060 Sub.
Unless you have trouble remembering the date. |

I would go with the 114060 non-date subC , it's the sensible choice as the YM is too similar to the regular Sub Date ceramic but in truth you can't go wrong with either......

My choise would be the no date as you stated yourself you have lot of date watches and wear it almost of the time for diving... Get the no date cleaner dial and more different feel from the YM. Cheers |

I'd say no date. That's if you can live withough that function. It is a little to get used to.

I would go 114060 to change up the look. I think it gives more options for a 3rd Rolex if you are ever so inclined. Either way, you can't really go wrong here.

114060
looks like a better option with the ym which already has the date. Nicer for the collection aspect. |
