As long as you have the tools and knowledge, I guess you could service a Rolex anywhere. My concern would be a dust-free environment and the possibility of getting a piece of lint on the dial.......well, and the small details that I have neither the tools nor the know-how.

I'm sure I've seen that before.
I believe the watchmaker is in Bangkok, Thailand (in an outer suburb).
I wanted to go and see him but it was like an hour drive each way and I didn't have time.
The watchmaker isn't doing this at home.
I spoke to the watchmaker and he is a really nice guy.

I'm not quite sure why people do this, copying and publishing videos as their own...its a bit annoying really.....like video plagiarism.

Excellent video, watched it a few times before! It gave me enough confidence to strip down my 3135 and do a few jobs on it!

Did notice though that the ratchet wheel came off on one side and he put it back on the other side (as per my posting there). To my understanding it was on the wrong way round before he dismantled it.

If it only takes 11 minutes to completely service a Rolex, why does RSC charge so much? That's about $63.00 per minute, or $3,780 per hour.

He really should be using gloves throughout the whole process, oils from his fingers on the dial, small parts, etc, is poor form.

Why? If he takes it apart, they all go through a bath before it gets reassembled. Of course he doesn't show the bath but you can tell all the parts are cleaner than before.

I understand your point perfectly and always use gloves (or rather finger condoms) when I assemble and lubricate cleaned watches at my school to avoid having any dirt or sweat on bridges and wheels when they have been cleaned. However, if the watch hasn't been cleaned already and you disassemble it only to put it in a basket and clean it it doesn't really matter if your fingers touch parts as they're going to get cleaned right away anyway. Besides, speaking for myself I've had to work on watches that were so dirty that a bit of sweat from my fingers wouldn't have made any difference. In fact, it might have even been a bit helpful as some dirt from the parts could have been swiped off prior to the cleaning...
