Hello World! My new Milgauss !!!
Hi all,
I've been reading this forum for the last few days and I really like the positive, knowleadgeble people in here! I found this website after searching for info on the new Rolex Milgauss and added it to My Favorites on my browser. Great posts and a great read. Well, now to the point... After reading so much about the Milgauss, I got very interested in it and as a newbie, decided to call a couple of AD's in H-town (Houston, that is...) asking if they had the Milgauss in stock. ;) Don't laugh... really! Some were very rude and pretentious: "how may watches have you bought from us before?..." "Are you on our VIP list?" etc. As a matter of fact, I had bought many watches and jewelry form Tourneau at the Galleria before (I said don't laugh!) but still was treated like, if you haven't bought like 100K in the last year from us, you are a nobody, so I don't think I'll ever go back to them. Anyway, a couple of AD were very nice, and said that they will keep me on their calling list. I started to think that it would never happen... Fast forward to this morning. I somehow "felt" that today I was going to buy a Milgauss, so I went out to see a couple of AD's, of course, with no luck. At the end, since I already had made up my mind that I wanted to buy my Rolex today, I decided on a TT Yachtmaster with blue dial, or a similar Submariner. I was about to say yes, when something inside me said, if it is not exactly what I wanted, why get it? So I said that I will think about it and come back later. Just as I was opening the door to leave the store, my cell phone rang... all while opening the door, hearding my 2 kids and looking for my car keys. I almost let the call go to voice mail, but I answered the call. "Hi Alex, this is XX from XXX, I'm calling you because you said that you were interested in the Milgauss. Guess what? You are #8 on my list, but so far I haven't been able to get anyone to answer my calls yet, so now its your turn. Do you want it?... hello, hello, are you still there???" I almost couldn't believe what I was hearing. YES, YES, I WANT IT. RIGHT NOW. I'M DRIVING THERE RIGHT NOW!!! So, 10 minutes later I got to the store, and my white dial Milgauss was waiting for me!!! Retail price, thank you. Wow, this is a BIG watch... I love it! Even when I have a small watch collection, this happened to be my first brand spanking new Rolex. I even have a SS Daytona, but I bought that from a watch trader. Now I got to experience the "new watch smell" hahaha. As you can tell, 8 hours later and I'm still very excited right now. I'll try to post some pics a little later... I know I would rather have had the Anniversary edition, but I'm not complaining. If I get a call later in the year, I will try to get the GV and then maybe sell this one, but only time will tell. I love this watch! Did I say that already? ;) So, here's my first post, but will definitely will not be my last! |

Congratulations Alex!! Glad to hear you got exectly what your heart was set on, I hope it brings you much happiness! Some luck involved huh? Shows the watch was meant for only you :) How do seven others before you just not answer or even return their calls?! Brings me to another point (sorry if a bit OT).. I think the AD's move the items rather quickly! When I said I was going to take the only remaining SS GMT IIc, I got a call saying that there was another buyer in Cape Town willing to pay stiker price for it if I didn't secure the watch, and they wanted to ship it there. Oh well, I had to move quickly..
Gues they're under pressure too :)

Big congratulations to you!!!
Wear your brand spanking new Milgauss in the very best of health and please post some pictures like wrist shots of the watch when you can! I really like the white dial model and the green crystal model for the black dial. Congratulations again and welcome to the forum! Glad to have you aboard.
