SOLD: 1959 Rolex GMT-Master 6542 Coke Bakelite "Pussy Galore"
First thing is first: PLEASE read the description in its entirety before asking me questions. I know this isn't a straight forward "ill take it" watch and every detail matters, but take your time to read as I took my time to write. All inquiries with questions which are already answered here will be politely ignored.
Up for sale is a Rolex GMT-Master "Pussy Galore" (as worn by James Bond movie character) 6542 reference, no crown guard GMT 46X,XX6 serial number circa 1959 The case of this GMT is excellent with VERY nice bevels on lugs. No dings, dents, or deep scratches. No corrosion. Serial number has been worn down by bracelet, but still readable fully with naked eye and especially under 10x magnification. The reference number has been worn down by bracelet, but still recognizable under 10x magnification. Please refer to pictures. The bezel is excellent bakelite REPLACEMENT coke which evidently has been on the watch for a long time as it has aged with the watch. It FAINTLY glows in dark still. No cracks! Only 1 notable scratch at 17 hour marker. The dial is excellent early GILT service dial. Gilt, gloss, chapter ring. Minor aging can be visible up-close on the outer ring and where the hands are attached. Hands are matching in color with 'mini-GMT' hand. Date-disk is red and black roulette. Caseback is excellent with no corrosion. It is stamped 6542 and II.59 Movement is Rolex 1030. Sorry I do not have a picture of it, (didn't think to do it when watchmaker opened it up for me). It keeps at +10 seconds a day. The bracelet is Swiss rivet bracelet with 11 links. It is stamped 3.55. Rather rare in itself. Here is what I know about the watch's history. The person I acquired it from has purchased it in 2005 from a vintage dealer in California. There is no box, no papers for it. As can be seen on caseback markings, it was serviced in 2007. This is the only 'proof' I have for you. There is no other hidden documentation anywhere which I am not showing you. What you see in pictures is EXACTLY what you get. Nothing more, nothing less. Any and all pictures are available in full resolution. Please specify which pictures you want and give me your email address and I'll be happy to send them. There are 2 sets of pictures. Some are in natural day light and others are under light box. My price is $10,000 shipped and fully insured. Call or text me at 757-749-9675 with questions Email is [email protected] Plenty of worldwide references available. I am always a buyer and trader for your Rolex, Omega, Breitling, Cartier or other luxury brand watches. |
