Hate wearing metal band during warm weather

Hello, I am just wondering if you guys having the same issue as I do during summer or warm days.

Doesn't matter what I wear that day, AK; Exp II; TT sub. The watch is always comfortable in the morning. By lunch time, the band will get tighter and tighter to the point I just have to remove the watch. I suspect my wrist got bigger from morning to lunch.

My only solution so far is to wear my only watch with leather strap, an old 6294, in order to adjust easily throughout the day.

Sounds like it might be time for a glidelock

Get a newer style watch.

The subs have the glidelock and the other sport models have an ez link that quickly gives you extra space.

Doesn't bother me, maybe my wrist doesn't expand as much?
Try a nato or go for the glidelock on the SubC

How much salt do you eat throughout the day? My wrist swells a little, but nothing that's even noticeable from a watch/comfort perspective.

Also, the Glidelock was made for people like you!

That is some serious swelling throughout the day. Like others have said, the glidelock would solve this problem.

I'd recommend giving it a shot again. But this time, invest a bit of money in a REAL leather strap. They're wonderful!

Anything besides Shell Cordovan (unlined) will soak moister and become gross. Nicer straps will last longer, but it always happens.

For years moving one clasp hole out every spring and then back in the fall has worked perfectly for me. The easy link on my Daytona makes it even simpler.

Natos and rubber straps are interesting options too.

Totally agree with that.

body swell does fluctuate but that's what the micro adjustments are for! Agree with RD, much rather have a metal bracelet in the summer than a leather or NATO that will just turn into a sponge! JMHO

Good idea guys. In fact, I am due for a new watch. Probably a new 116610, hope the new clasp will help.

Another solution, a Pocket Watch.

Thanks for all the feedback.

My wrist always swells a bit in the warmer weather but never so much that I have to take the watch off. Maybe it's too tight to begin with?

I do sweat easily, so maybe the combination of sweat and swelling make it more noticeable.

I don't have that problem personally.
But a Rolex to me is steel bracelet.

Rubber, and those horrible NATO things just look cheap.
Some Datejusts look ok on a quality animal skin strap like the ones from ADP in Paris.

I wear my Sub on a NATO because of the advantages it provides over the steel band. This should be your first consideration when deciding what band to choose. If you are worried the band looks cheap and that's the reason you decide against it - then, well...

I'll leave it at that.

Geez, that much swelling. Perhaps a doctors visit is in order, seriously.
Lots of sodium and water retention, also circulation and blood pressure issues.
You can solve the strap issue easily but get a check up, please....yes, even if you're twenty five or whatever years old.

Yes, you're wrist may be wider in the summer, this is a normal seasonal transition over time. It shouldn't deviate this drastic and fast over a few hours from morning to noon.

perfectly normal expansion in warmer season, I doubt you're in serious danger with your health. I agree, I often take off the steel oysters and usually just use nylon nato in the summer months.

I like leather and rubber straps. Sub on a rubber strap is fine, WG Daytona or a Tudor Chrono on leather fine, I have four chronos on leather and one of my daily wear watches is a 50 year old Accutron Astronaut on leather. Don't get me wrong I still do like bracelets.
Jubilee on my DJ and Oyster on my TT Daytona. I just like the change from time to time.

I have similar issues with the wrists seeming to swell in the hot weather, or maybe its the humidity. Most of my issues have come from leather bands, for which I just swap holes and get some breathing room. With bracelets I've always worn them a bit loose so it's never gotten to the point of feeling tight.

I find wearing a strap worse on warm days.

Wearing my bracelets with about 4-5mm of play seems to be perfect for summer wrist expansion.
