Platinum posts

This is a very unique version of any watch. Show your platinum and your story why you bought this vs a WG or ss. Thx

Why did I pick platninum rather than WG? The weight, the presence, the elegance, the bada$$ness. I agree, to the common eye, not much different between the two. But to me, when you want the best, there is simply no comparison.

Main difference

Have you taken the stickers off yet?

I've taken the stickers off the bracelet but the stickers on the case will remain just a bit longer

reason i bought it is that at some point i realy wanted a platinum watch, while i was first looking in more classic - temporary pieces like the 5960 Patek chrono and the Lange Datograph i realised that wearing these would not be 100% my choice, dressed 99% casual the look of a classic watch wouldn't match IMO, I know some people don't mind that at all but i do , so by coincidence i stumbled on a platty DD2 only 6 months old in great shape and at a reasonable price , the only thing was that i preferred the ice dial better than the charcoal one so i had them swapped at my dealer .....
For most people it looks like a steel watch and is rather discret compared to gold and the heft (285 gr) is cool on the wrist !!

it started like this .....

and ended up like this ......

oh yeah before i forger i choose the arab ice dial above the roman one because it gave me the impression to be more contemporary
and less classic overall, but that's just me ...

Seems like the ice blue dial is very popular. So what do folks with the platinum day date think about the new platinum Daytona?

I'll reserve judgement until I see one IRL but it probably looks nice. However the cost is probably more than I'm willing to pay for a Rolex chronograph.

Platinum case only, ceramic bezel and leather strap and now only 69K from 112K. This is actually the cheapy plat ROO.

Platinum DD is pretty, but it has same basic movement as a ss DJ. Like buying a Cadillac with a Chevy engine. Not good value for the money.

If you can afford DDII platinum, you may have problems but money isn't one. Great shots guys.
