Icon10 New Diver has arrived

A week ago I said I did a deal for a dive watch. It arrived today. I'm quite impressed... water proof to 200m, in-house movement, black dial, famous lume...

Here it is...

Thanks to Daren for use of the pic, and for conducting a smooth transaction. This Black Monster lives up to it's name. At 42mm across and 13mm thick, this baby has presence. It dwarfs the ExpII (I'll post some comparison pix soon) in every sense.

Immediate impressions: The bracelet is solid SS and is one of the most comfortable watches I've had on my wrist. It is heavy and feels like total quality. The only issue is that the movement cannot be handwound. Which isn't a big deal really.. power reserve is supposed to be 42 hours. The bezel turns with smooth clicks and feels tight and solid.

This is an awesome value watch and should be priced at least $500 more because it is so robust. Show me another watch that sports an in-house auto movement and a solid SS bracelet for under US$500. You can't! HA!

Thanks again to Daren for doing the deal. The transaction couldn't have been better or smoother (well, maybe if Canada Customs didn't charge and additional $8.50 in taxes and handling fees, bastids).

It's a fake! The O in Seiko isn't correct, the hands are 1/10000 of an inch too wide and I could go on. You've been had mate!

B.T.W. Enjoy your watch John

Congratulations, John. Beautiful rugged piece.

Now aren't you ashamed of yourself for taking Daren like you did? You really do owe him that $500.

I know you guys are joking about the 'hit' Daren took.. but when I say the watch should be priced $500 more, it's purely an opinion based on the quality of the watch, an opinion voiced by many who have owned a BM or an OM.

Bottom line is, I have photos of Daren that he didn't want made public. 'Nuff said.

There was no hit taken on my part and I made a friend happy. It was a great deal all the way around.

Blimey, we must be the poorest excuse for serious watch lovers and forum members that ever walked the face of this earth! Or are we? (Drum roll). Yes and no. I think we are a rare breed of people who still know how to enjoy life and I feel real friendship here. And most of us know a thing or two about watches to boot! Vive TRF!
