Thanks in advance |

Why didn't you post some nice clear pict of the movement ? This would help the experts a lot.

I am no expert but a Marconi movement and a dial that reads Rolex does not seem to be a match. It looks like the Rolex letters on the dial are not original (or redone) but it is very difficult to be sure since the picture might trick the eye. The silver watch case dates from 1917 and has the interesting W&D mark. The crown seems to be original to the watch. Perhaps the experts could provide more info about the movement. Not sure if it is a Rebberg or Hunter or ...

The ROLEX looks like I painted it ....... After a few bevvies ......
I've seen quite a few of these old pocket watches converted into "trench watches" and usually Omega or Rolex added for good measure..... Often coming out of Eastern Europe...... |

Looks OK to me. Correct W&D case and possibly London import marks for 1917 but difficult to see from the pictures. The dial would not have been signed. That looks like a later edition to make it more "Rolex"
Marconi Lever movements were a Rolex trade name for their lower end watches and so this is why the dial would not have been signed like this. |
