Hard to turn Sea Dweller bezel

I have a like new M serial sea dwelled. The bezel turns and is smooth, but it does not turn as easy as my submariner. Is there a way to loosen up the twist. A drop of oil or something?

Unlikely you have dirt under a like new SD. Give it some regular turns and in a little time it should free-up a bit.

When my SD was new it was a bit difficult to turn as well. Did some research and it seems that this was normal for SD, unlike submariner.

Now after 2 yard it turns just fine as it loosened up a bit.

Sounds like you just need to spin it for a while till it's broken in. Keep us posted.

You mean some of you guys actually turn and move the bezel I always thought it had to stay permanently fixed within a cats whisker of the 12 O'clock marker. The main problem with most bezels is either not keeping the watch clean, or in most cases simply down to lack of use.But quite a simple job to remove clean and reattach just be careful and don't lose the click spring.

Pop the bezel off and give it a good cleaning.

As has been stated, your watch may have foreign matter under the bezel so either you or a jeweler can pop it off and clean underneath!!!

Good luck and take care.....Leo

Both my SDs have tight bezels ... I think it is a sign of newness ... I have barely worn the watches and when I bought them, they were literally brand new ... so consider this an asset of your SD ...

The worst bezel movements are my gmt2c and the DSSD ... they do not have that "machine" feel of the SDs...

That's mainly because its a totally different system on the ceramic it floats on 3 spring loaded ball-bearings. And there have been quite a few comments with those who actually dive with the DSSD, that the bezel was far too easy to turn accidentally while underwater, not a good thing in a dive watch.

I run my SD, sub and gmt under warm water. Then take a business card and clean the bezel gap between the case. The gmt yields the most booger and tends to lock up entirely
