FS: Rolex Submariner 168000 Transitional Model, Recently Serviced
The Submariner 168000 was only manufactured for somewhere between 4 months and a year (depending on who you ask) between 1987-88. A true transitional model, the 168000 upgraded the stainless steel from grade 316 (used in the 16800) to grade 904 (used in the 16710 and beyond).
This particular watch is in very good condition (around 85%). The serial number is 9,869,XXX, which dates it to 1987. The matte tritium dial has some "spidering" that can be seen when the light hits it just right. I tried to capture this in the photos. The 93150 bracelet has some stretch and the diver's extension clasp could use some adjustment but on the wrist the bracelet is great. The bezel insert is not original to the watch as it has a luminova pearl. The 3035 movement runs strong as it was serviced on 5/6/2013 by World Time in San Jose and carries a 2 year warranty. This package includes the watch, extra bracelet links (13 links total), inner and outer boxes, receipt from the recent service and written appraisal from Edmar Fine Jewelery in Scottsdale, AZ dated 3/29/13. Priced at $4350 via bank wire. PayPal may be an option depending on the buyer as long as the buyer pays the PayPal fees (3%). I will pay for insured shipping to the CONUS only (I will not ship to other countries - please do not ask if I will). I have had hundreds of successful transactions on various watch forums with impeccable references and I would prefer the buyer have some references as well. I would prefer an outright sale but may be interested in trading down (the trade value of this watch will be higher than the cash price). Specs Bracelet: Oyster 93150 Clasp: Flip-lock clasp w/ diver's extension Dial: Black dial w/ tritium hands Bezel: Unidirectional rotating bezel Crown: Screw down crown Crystal: Sapphire Calibre: Automatic Chronometer Rolex Calibre 3035 Width (without crown): 40 mm Lug Width: 20 mm Box: Box Included |
