Glad you could get out to fish - but your Mahi Mahi is actually a Crevalle Jack. And that's no Redfish - it's a Gray (aka mangrove) Snapper.

Great catch Sam!
I have yet to go deep sea fishing. I usually go fly/lake fishing in Utah or Arizona. Will definitely have to give it a try. Maybe an after surf activity on a Cali trip

Great catches!

Nice photos, especially with the ink on your arm providing thematic continuity!

Ya, I realize that now. I am from Dallas, and grew up fishing for Bass. Still learning all of the Salt Water Fish. I have to say, fishing from a pier in the Gulf is much more exciting than fishing in Fresh water. You can literally pull anything out of the Gulf at any moment. A guy next to me caught a 3ft long Ribbon Fish, and a 2.5" wide Stingray within minutes of each other.

I realize I was wrong calling this a Mahi, I was only going by what dude next to me told me, and he was a local!
