Mark up of Rolex Watches

Hi Everyone,

What is the general mark up above cost for the AD's. In other words, what is the price an AD purchases say a Datejust from the distributor?

I read somewhere in the forum Rolex's margins are around 37%.

It wouldn't be right to assume the mark up would be 37% for each watch would it?

Thanks for your help!

Dealer cost is 63.5% of retail. Markup is whatever you pay them above their cost.

markup and margin are two different stats using the same data; cost and price.

Using Mike's figure of cost, the resulting markup is 1.57 and a fraction.
