Polar dial Explorer II

On the TRF we use reference names like...

Pepsi, Coke & Rootbeer for the GMT because of the bezel.

But what about giving reference names for the dials. Rolex doesn't give a "special" name for the black or white dials... they are just that... black or white.

So how about nameing the black dial... onxy or dark or night?

And the white dial... milk or snow or polar?

Well here it is my Polar dial Expy II...

Well, I dunno. I'd consider it "polarizing" to rename colours.

Than if everyone is in agreement...

* the white dial is now going to be known as the "Polar Dial"
and
* the black dial is now going to be known as the "Ebony Dial"

Agreed?????

Love my Polar White Dial. Added it to my signature to make it official. All Polars should do the same to see if it sticks.

Polar dial is a winner. The "Everest" is pretty timely however and might have a better chance at sticking. Regardless, polar it is.

I know I'll be shunned for this, but when I hear Polar dial, I think of the Kobold Polar Explorer and the shimmery ice-blue dial of that watch.

Since I've seen polar skys with the accompanying snow and blue horizons, I think sky-blue when I think polar.

That said, the Exp was walked up Everest and has been used on various explorations of the north, and the Rolex website shows the Exp II white dial with a dog sled background.

I think your choice of "polar" dial for the white Exp II is cool.

Best,

Chris
