How do you know if your AD sent the Rolex to the Rolex Service Center (NY or Dallas)?

I sent my Datejust 1995 in for service in San Francisco, and the AD said should be between $600-$900 due to a problem with the winding crown, takes about 6-9 weeks as they will be sending it to Texas, and once fixed, the watch will come back in a pouch (really? not a service box?). Does it take that long to service a watch? Appreciate if anyone can share their recent experince of servicing their Rolex through an AD. Thank you in advance.

Green felt pouch, no box, tis true. I should think you could ask for a copy of the service receipt from RSC that will have their Harwood St address on it. If they do a full service, that comes with a warranty for which you will definitely want to have that document.

I sent mine directly to RSC in Dallas and yes, they are returned in the green service pouch.

If it came back with all the nubs ground off your rotating bezel, or with lugs with edges like razors, or a bent second hand, then it likely went to Dallas :)
(all of which have personally happened to me there)

Indeed, I'm sure they'll give you the paperwork. And that timeframe is totally normal.

Interestingly, there is also an RSC located in Lititz, PA that accepts watches from dealers, but not the public.

And you should get a written estimate directly from the RSC for required and recommended work to be done that you must approve.
