Typical cost is US $ 500. But if the watch has worn-out parts that are not exchanged as an included part of the service charge (e.g.: wear to other essential parts of the watch), the charge may be more. Included in the service costs is the exchange of seals / gaskets, often also the winding crown.

I don't know the UK price as the service cost varies from country to country. For example in my country it's around 400-500 euro. I suppose that the service cost in england is going to be around 300 GBP

In the UK, RSC charge is normally £ 250.

Which is right in line with the US cost, since the exchange rate is about double right now!

Rich,
Something I should have mentioned in my earlier response to you - have you thought about having your GMT 2 service by RSC or by a Rolex-approved 'independent? The reason I ask is that inedependents are generally cheaper - around £200. Who you use for servicing will depend somewhat on the age of your watch - if it is less than ten years old then the RSC might be the best bet. But if it is an older watch, then a good independent will do just as good a job for less money and in just 2-3 weeks, rather than the 6-10 weeks that RSC take. The important thing in choosing an independent is to make absolutely sure that they are Rolex trained and approved - ask to see their certificates, which should be up to date (the independent I use has his certificates on display in his workshop). Hope this helps, Stan. |
