NEW (to me) Explorer II!
Just got back from a Craiglist buy where I met a local seller selling a 16570 Explorer II white dial without box and papers. The watch had a full service June 2013 at Pieces of Time in Newington CT and the one year warranty is transferable to me. ($584 and receipt for service included in sale). Asking price was $3350. There were a few tiny crystal nicks so I got the price down to $3100.
Got it home and it is running at 0 seconds on my Timegrapher 1000 with great amplitude and beat error. I think I did really well price wise considering the full service and the condition. The hands are all new luminova and glow like a torch! Very happy right now! My wife, not so much. This is my fifth Rolex in 2 months. Need to sell one or two now.

Very nice. I had that model myself, and it was my first Rolex ever.....but not my last
Great for travelling and a very reliable watch.

Very nice. I'm almost sure I'm going to start looking for a 16550 soon. The predecessor to the 16570

Nice score Pete, great price. Now you'll have to put your Oysterquartz's on the winder, oh, oops... wait a minute...

Very happy right now! My wife, not so much. This is my fifth Rolex in 2 months. [QUOTE] I know the feeling. I recently purchased my 2nd Rolex in a few months and my girlfriend just about flipped. Good thing I was headed out for business for a few days to let her cool off. Congrats! |

Love the polar dials!
However, those sloppy end links would bug me to no end, certainly doesn't give it the look of a $3,100 watch. |

Great find.
Nothing is more satisfying then getting a real good deal.
