Rolex at a funeral

I have to attend a funeral tomorrow. Is it appropriate to wear my Rolex - which is viewed by many as too blingy - to such a somber event? I'm afraid the light may reflect off my PCL and blind the priest during the service. Should I brush the PCL beforehand, or take the chance. Is a cape cod cloth the best to use to accomplish this.

I'd use a scotchbrite pad to brush them out, then afterwards use the cape cod to bring them back.

That's a first. I'd leave the bling at home.

Paint it black. Seriously, a suit will do the cover.

I don't see the problem, you're probably going to wear a suit so the watch can be hidden under your sleeve.

If you're wearing a long-sleeved shirt, I don't think your watch will be noticed. I would not worry about it too much.

This is a strange question if you ask me. Why would you worry about which watch you wear, as I doubt anyone else will even notice.
If that watch is one you'd normally wear when dressing up and going out, I think it's perfectly acceptable.

My condolences.

Isn't the funeral more important than your watch. Sorry but this is a weird topic.

ROFL.
I just figured with all the crazy, left-field questions posted so far, I'd inject some levity into this holiday weekend.

Quite a few of these threads lately. A lot of paranoia.

You should donate your Rolex to the funeral fund. That will solve your worries ;)

I'm with you..........I'm not sure I even understand the reason for the question.

Unless your watch is totally encrusted in diamonds, rubies or emeralds, why would you even think about it??? A Rolex is a watch, that's it.......part of your everyday attire.

Moved to the joke section since we don't have a "pale excuse for a joke" section.

Unless you see someone spinning in their grave you should be fine.

The main thing about a funeral is that you show up to pay your respects.

Wore my gmt 2c to a funeral a few weeks ago

The black insert and white numerals worked well with the black/white attire
