Would I get beaten to death if.........
I said I had an idea about fitting the later GMT hand from a 216570 to a polar Explorer II 16570?
I tried the 216570 and it looks big on me, but I really don't like the hand on the 16570...... But I love the white dial. This is just for S & G's, no need for purity/service comments. Maybe I should just be asking Jocke this question!! |

I don't think that you'd be beaten to death, but I think that the think 24 hour hand would dwarf the other hands.

On second thought, it might have been the proper hand but painted orange

I found it. The watch looks awesome with the cyclops removed and orange GMT hand

Sorry, Grady, I'm going to go with beaten to death on this one. Although I've been drinking beer for about two hours and can't recall the original question. So the answer is either 'yes' or 'leather croc'.

It would dwarf the other hands as well as the markers and would probably extend too far, too. But.......it would be fun to see! So, OP, risk bodily harm and go for it! (The pic above is not of a 42 Exp II hand.) Quote:

It's the unmarked black Escalades you have to worry about

That orange hand is quite big indeed but I would be interested to see the result as well, have you given a vintage Exp-II orange hand some thought as well? Perhaps it would look nicer as it would be smaller.

I'm not sure about the GMT hand from the 216570 but I like the orange painted mod on the 16570. Surely Jocke could figure this one out for you. Personally, I'm not much of a modding person except for straps but I say if it's your watch, do whatever you want with it!

I'm visualizing the Pulp Fiction scene in the army surplus store, only this one takes place in the basement of a Rolex AD.
