Is that your DJ?!? My condolences if it is! But...a new crystal ought to get it right as rain, if there is no other damage.

BTW, welcome to TRF!

Yes it is mine, it happened Dec 26th and is due back from service any day now. One sound you never want to hear is that crystal breaking. Like nothing I have ever heard.

Some of the pieces did get into the date window but it is getting a total overhaul.

Well, glad to hear that it is getting serviced. I know you are anxious to get it back - I certainly would be.

Not to be morbid, but an "after" photo when you get it back would sure make us all feel better!

That does look painful. What did it land on in the fall?

Another great reason to have an SD. I'm just sayin...

Sorry about the accident, but glad its getting the full service. IMO spall from the crystal can somehow get around the date wheel and wipe out the movement if it is not properly cleaned. I've actually read about it a couple of times. Hope your watch is back home soon & good as new!

Double Ouch. Like nothing you have ever heard, like nothing we would like to see ever happen to a Rolex. I'm sorry about the accident.

Rest assured, it will look like new when it comes back from the RSC.

Welcome to TRF.

Where did it fall from, the chrysler building? I just cradled my sweet DJ a little closer.

Thanks to all responders. Our house has stained concrete floors. The watch was sitting on the bathroom counter, way too close to edge and I grabbed a towel and it swept it off. Murphy took charge and it fell flat face down.
