Datejust fatboy - hands replaced?

I'm looking at a seemingly nice Datejust 1601 with a fatboy dial, but the hands appear to be non-fatboy. Does anybody know if some 1601s were made without fatboy hands, or have these been replaced? It's a 1971 model (birth year!).

Looks like a regular DJ dial and hands to me?

Hmm. It doesn't seem to have regular hour markers - they appear thicker than usual. This is especially visible in pic 2. The hands seem to be thinner than the plots, but I'm not sure if this was standard issue.
