Swc
Have any of you guys heard of Swiss Watch Centers in London? I'm going to buy from my local AD but there is a couple of grand difference between the AD price for a new 116613 LB and the SWC price, so I'd like to use this as negotiation leverage with my AD. However, the SWC prices seem too good to be true, and I don't want to make a fool of myself with my AD.
Any thoughts very welcome. |

Yes, they are getting the super duper, double secret probation discount from Rolex.
I am sure the AD will cave and sell for "a couple of grand" less. Go for it!

Since they are not an authorized dealer of Rolex watches according to the Rolex website, I am not sure what kind of response you were looking for?
Best of luck to you!

Swc appear on Chrono so I assume they are a trusted seller; however, when something appears too good to be true, it generally is! I am not going to buy from them, nor am I expecting a £2k discount from my AD, but commercial leverage would be useful. Does this make sense? I don't think I'm asking an unreasonable question, and if I am, I'm at least oing it with reasonable intention, so not sure it warrants the response it got. However, as nobody else has responded, perhaps I've mis-read the situation. |

Thanks Tom. I'm pretty committed to buying from my AD, I have a good relationship with them and they are a 200 year old family business so I like to buy from them if I can, even if it's at a premium (the buying experience in itself is worth a few hundred quid).
Appreciate the reply, thanks. |

If I have read this right you are planning to buy two watches and one is a 116613, from an AD who you already have a good relationship with.
If you are looking outside of Central London, you should be able to negotiate a discount on a bi-metal watch fairly easily. It makes perfect sense to do research as you have, to see what you could pay through a Grey dealer, then use that as leverage in negotiations with the AD. Not sure what the second watch or its retail value is, but that should be a factor to further support a discount. Good luck :) |
