Case height - 422 and 510
Hello all,
Can anyone tell me the case height for these two pieces? I would love a 422, but feel that the 47mm case would look too big on me - unless the case is not too tall! Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part, buy oh well. The 510 is also a strong contender, with similar looks at 44mm. The 8 day pr is also very sweet. Info on this case height would be much appreciated as well. Many thanks! |

422 is 16.4mm. What's your wrist size, Kauê? I'm very happy with the 47mm models on my flat 6.5" wrist.
My only reservation about the 510 is a lack of a PR indicator for an 8-day PR. Otherwise it's a great model although I prefer the 8-day 233 more. |

Thanks a lot for the info, Mike! My wrist is about 6.7" and also relatively flat. I guess I need to try the 422 out to see hiw it wears. It is a limited edition, right?! I suppose that means I shouldn't wait too long to decide...
I think the 510 is great, but totally agree that an 8 day movement just begs for a pr indicator. The one included in the 422, on the back, would be perfect for the 510 as well. I guess OP didn't include it to keep the price low, as it seems the 510 will be marketed as somewhat of an entry level reference. Too bad. One of the main selling points of the 422 to me is the patina "cream/bronze/golden" looking hands and dial markers. |

Good stuff, SMD, that takes the rush out of the decision. A bit. ;.)

i remember when the 510 came out, the general consensus was that the PR would have meant an additional 300/400 for the MSRP. so, yes, the 510 is *slightly* cheaper without the PR, but, it seems more to me like a total oversight. too bad. oh, and the "8 Days" text for a bread and butter model is unfortunate. but, that's beating a dead horse, i know. |

In comparison with the 422, one of the main things the 510 seems to have on its favor is the price. Excluding the faux patina and PR on the back, they look very similar, and the 422 is about 40% more expensive. 510 also has the advantage of the huge PR. This hobby is hard hehe. |

i'm not sure that the 422 and 510 are comparable. the 422 is 47mm, has a different case, domed crystal, gold hands and has a decidedly vintage vibe. the 510, on the other hand, is a 44mm bettarini case. no reason a collection couldn't have both. |

No, what I meant by that comment was that, in theory, the 510 should be a volume leader for Panerai, but, in my opinion, the "8 Days" text is sufficiently polarizing that I think quite a few people won't buy it just because of the text. At best, I think people don't mind the "8 Days".... |

That is true. Just like the rehaut text on the Dssd... as for the 510, I don't mind that text, but have seen many comment that they dislike it.
Thanks for the clarification! |
